Please be patient with me. I am new to all of this blog stuff and especially the HCG diet protocol part of these posts, so it will be a learning thing for me on both fronts!

I have been reading non-stop for the past few weeks and I think this just may be the thing to cure my morbid obesity forever. The success stories are just AWESOME.

Anyone that has never heard of HCG or the astounding Dr. A.T.W. Simeons and has weight to lose, simply must do some research about him and this amazing “diet” (actually, I think most would prefer you call it a protocol, but for my purpose here, I will say diet). One of the papers that is absolutely a must-read is “Pound and Inches: a new approach to obesity” (just Google it, you can find copies ALL over!)

Dr. Simeons was born in London and graduated in medicine (summa cum laude) at the University of Heidelberg many years ago. This protocol has been used to make movie stars slim since I believe the 50’s, and if it’s good enough for THEM, it’s good enough for me!

I will be starting the protocol in about one week I think (you must begin with two to three days where you do what is called “loading”, that is to say you eat ALL the fat you can force yourself to eat for those days)…..Most everyone I have seen speak of this, says it’s hard for them to do with the hCG (it stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin and comes from the urine of pregnant women….kinda gross I know…but if it works, WTF!) I will hopefully be posting photos soon (YIKES!!!!!) of my body that are going to absolutely mortify me – but I think it will be important to have a record of this especially if I am successful, it will be awesome to have something to compare my new body to, and something to remind me I don’t want to go back to as well!!

So about that pizza?

I still am having a hard time believing this myself, but I STILL have not had that damn pizza!! It was the thing I was craving throughout the entire P2, and I have not had the desire to eat it since I have been on P3 yet! I REALLY should be starting R2 any day now, but I am still losing weight (down 60lbs now) and am enjoying this so much that I have not mixed the new batch yet.

I cannot believe how much this protocol has changed the way I feel/think about and treat food. It’s been some of the most stressful days of my LIFE recently and I have not turned to food the way I normally would have to soothe myself. Something I am having a really hard time believing….but I will NOT complain that is for sure!! I am completely enjoying this healthy relationship (as my MARRIAGE takes a shit, ironic..eh??)……

More as I am able.

Can I just say it again? I LOVE hCG and what it’s doing for me! It’s a BREEZE on P3!!

Well, I need to rephrase that, perhaps. I am still LOSING weight (and I am not supposed to be at this point of my journey) because I am PETRIFIED to eat what I am supposed to be eating…..I am so afraid I am going to screw up all the hard work I have done that I am not eating enough!

When is the last time you’ve heard someone that is morbidly obese say THAT? It even feels weird to _think_ that I am not eating enough, but I am not! I have not gone over 1100 calories (and that was TOUGH to cram all that food in let me tell you!!) and I should be having almost DOUBLE that many a day right now….Dear Lord, please help me!

I am FINISHED!!!!! 46 days of injections (didn’t want to waste what hCG was left, so I went over a bit) and I lost 51 pounds. Not too shabby, eh?? I am extremely pleased!

Now, I just have 72 hours to go before I get to have my beloved CHEESE!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! I cannot wait to have a crustless pizza, YUMMY!!!! These three days will likely suck, but I have to keep my eye on the prize šŸ™‚

I know it’s been a dog’s age! I am sorry about that….I just am not as lucky as others that have done this protocol. I have ABSOLUTELY NO ENERGY most days. It’s all I can do to prepare meals for myself most days…I sure wish I would get to feeling like the others that are doing this “thing” šŸ™‚

BUT, I do have some numbers….Are you ready? I have lost FOURTY SEVEN POINT FOUR pounds in 35 days!!! Isn’t that AWESOME? I am in complete shock! I cannot believe that I have lost so much in such a short amount of time, it’s amazing!! I lost 11 pounds in this past week alone, which I find amazing. The only things I have been doing different is eating something within a couple of hours of getting up (cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries or a few spoons of cottage cheese are what have been on the menu this week) AND I made chicken soup and put some unflavored gelatine in it for some added protein (I also added some chickory in there a few days after I made it, too, it’s YUMMMYYYYY!!) and I have been having that for lunch and dinner! This is by far one of my most successful weeks EVER šŸ™‚

I have stopped weighing myself every day, too. It’s too depressing to see the scale go up, when you know you’ve done everything in your power to be “good” – so onceĀ  a week is what I am doing from now on. It would make it too easy for me to talk myself into cheating when I see the upward movements if I didn’t do it that way, so I made the executive decision to weigh on Saturdays. I think that saved me more than once already šŸ™‚

I do realize that having lost that much weight already, I SHOULD stop now on move to P3, but I don’t want to waste what is left of my stuff, so I am not going to do that….I am just going to continue until my mix is gone, and then move to P3 and enjoy some of the things I have been craving like crustless PIZZA! YUM!!! Oh, how I can’t wait to devour you ::gg::

I cannot recommend this protocol enough to anyone that has weight to lose. It’s AMAZING how the pounds just melt off of you if you follow the directions to the LETTER. ANY deviation will cause you to fail, so please don’t cheat yourself!

Well, you’d be WRONG šŸ™‚ I am still going strong, although the losses have slowed considerably (damnit!!

Would be great if it continued the way it was!! I’d be done in a couple of months!) But, I do have to remember it didn’t go on overnight, and it’s not going to come off overnight. To date, I have lost 36.2 pounds and it’s averaging about .4 a day the past two weeks, but all together the average for the entire time is 1.34lbs. a day.

Pretty damn good if you ask me!! I have been feeling _MUCH_ better with the dizziness and faint feelings, too. I have added some protein powder (not daily, just here and there and what I have been doing is eliminating the fruits on the days that I have the Protein Powder so I don’t go over the 500 calories) and I have to say, it’s AWESOME! This is my first time trying a fruit flavored one (I got Green Apple, and if you like fake-y flavored things like those Jolly Rancher candies, you will probably like this stuff)….It’s about the best tasting one I have tried yet as far as the after taste is concerned. I have been mixing mine with water and Crystal Light (makes it easier to get down than just the powder and plain water) and it’s helped me TREMENDOUSLY with the feeling crappy/weakness stuff.

I am starting to feel like everyone else now, FINALLY! (you can find links to some of my favorite things in my first post My hCG Journey – please scroll down if you don’t want to read the initial stuff, and you will see the links :)) I am so thankful that I found this program!! Even my husband is making positive comments already, and he hardly ever notices when I lose weight, and especially so soon! It’s usually at about 60lbs. when he says, “are you losing weight?” and it’s about 1/2 that now, and he’s noticed, so it feels GREAT!!!

I cannot recommend this protocol strongly enough to ANYONE that has weight to take off! It’s SUPER simple and as diets go, it’s quite cheap, too! In this economy, something I am sure will appeal to just about everyone! Oh, a quick update on a couple of measurements. I’ve lost 6.5 inches from my waist and 1.5″ from my neck in TWENTY SEVEN DAYS, that is just incredible, isn’t it??

And all this without exercise (YES, I know it’s important to incorporate exercise, but right now I am far too fat and out of shape to do much more than I absolutely have to do during the course of a day, so I WILL get there, ok? No more messages or emails about “how important” it is…I KNOW, and I WILL do it as I am able, ok??) I am really beginning to think it may be possible for me to do this on my own without WLS (and that is NOT a knock on WLS, it’s just that I am PETRIFIED to go under the knife, that is why I didn’t have that done years ago, plus I am diabetic and don’t heal well, and don’t want to have any surgery I don’t absolutely have to!) In fact, I think that WLS is probably a whole lot harder than what I am doing, with all that I have been reading about “dumping syndrome” doesn’t sound like something I would ever want and it happens to more people than you could ever imagine after such surgery!)

I’d much rather avoid the surgical interventions if at all possible…..But, it’s an option as a last resort I suppose and I am thankful for that!! Ok, this is long enough for now, more about Menus and good/bad foods for me another time!

Good luck if you’re doing this protocol, I wish you all the best, too!!! This probably is the most rewarding plan I’ve ever tried, and I really am THRILLED!

Why am i not in ketosis during the hcg diet?

If you’re having this problem, and you’ve been on the VLCD for at least 5 days, there can be a few reasons.

Either the carbs you’re getting from the bread/fruits are too much for your system (in which case, I’d start with dropping the bread because there could be sugar in it that isn’t listed!!) and stick to one fruit for a few days….see if that changes things.

Also, I would make the fruit either strawberries (about 3-4 only) or a small apple.

Another thing that comes to mind is sugar or starch in one of the spices you are using, that is a no-no!

If it’s not those things, are your strips fresh??
